Adams Farm Dental

Everything about my visit was good and the staff was polite, right up until I asked to keep the teeth they pulled. I was told that OSHA regulations and the law prohibit patients from keeping their teeth because they are a "biohazard." I have since done my own research and made some calls: there is absolutely no law or OSHA policy that states a dental office is required to deny a patient’s request to keep their own teeth. OSHA guidelines actually allow offices to return extracted teeth to patients. Furthermore, the "biohazard" excuse is a massive contradiction. Dental amalgam contains mercury, and facts show that brushing and chewing cause these fillings to release microscopic amounts of mercury vapor directly into the mouth. It makes no logical sense that these teeth are considered safe to keep inside my body where they actively release vapor, but are suddenly an illegal biohazard the moment they are placed in a sealed glass jar next to my baby teeth. I appreciated the polite service, but the office shouldn't use nonexistent laws to deny patients their own property. Being told not to return hurt deeply, and it felt like my basic rights as a patient were stripped away. Even though

I have been petrified of the dentist since I was a little girl. I came across this office due to their positive reviews and decided to give them a try. I have had nothing but positive and painless experiences. From the front desk (Ms. Kim) to the dental hygienist, everything has been so smooth. I also had a tooth extracted and cavity filled by Dr. Jones and everything was completely pain free! I highly recommend this office to any one that is looking for a dentist!
